The OIA and Sports England last year reported that in the UK 2.5 Million people are regularly active outdoors, yet there are 8.9 Million people who are active outdoors, but not on a regular basis.
We know from our own research figures that the market leading outdoor industry magazines make a great effort in reaching the 2.5 million regularly active outdoor participants, encouraging and inspiring those with a true passion for the outdoors and we look forward to inspiring these readers too.
But what about the 8.9 million who don’t participate regularly? Do they need kit, equipment, advice and inspiration but who is reaching them?
Exploring Magazine has been designed and set up specifically to engage with the existing outdoor community and reach and inspire the peripheral 8.9 million and bring them into the category of regularly active outdoor participants.
That is why Exploring Magazine is free to all readers. In an age when magazines are looking to decrease or halt their print run in favour digital, Exploring Magazine is bucking the trend, publishing in both print and online.
Based on the freemium model as successfully demonstrated by Shortlist Magazine, the leading men’s lifestyle magazine in Britain, Exploring Magazine has the potential to grow and grow quickly and we want you or your brand to join us on this journey.
After three successful pilot editions, we have improved our handy A5 publication to ensure every printed copy gets picked up.
Whilst you are on the go many of you will pick up news and gossip online, but when you are at home or away for the weekend and are looking for the digital detox that we all seem to need these days, Exploring Magazine can offer the indulgence of features, interviews, reviews, accompanied by fantastic images, all to be consumed in a timely and relaxed manner.
We know you love the feel and smell of a lovely print magazine and if we get the content right (and hopefully we will) you will spend quality time reading the magazine, whether in bitesize consumable chunks or all in one go, especially compared to the two to three minutes you may spend flicking through the digital version.
This is why we want a print magazine, it may take us a while to get it completely right and we are always open to suggestions and support, after all, we are not a big publishing house, just two lovers of the outdoors. But we want you to love Exploring Magazine and the more of you who read, the more advertisers will want to be seen in the magazine, and the more advertisers that come on board then the more copies we can print and so on and so on…
